The Davidson house
A white farmhouse a five-minute walk from Chambers.
Davidson gets a house on Concord Road: a white farmhouse with a wraparound porch, a host family who have known the town for thirty years, and a table that fills every Thursday with Wildcats who were strangers at orientation.

Where to find us
Five minutes on foot from Chambers and the Main Street shops, on the quiet stretch of Concord Road. Everything in Davidson is close; this is closer than most.
The host family
A Davidson couple, a retired professor and a nurse, with a dining room that seats sixteen and a porch that seats the rest. They know the town, the faculty, and which professors to take, and they will tell you.
Getting there
- On foot: five minutes from Chambers, out past Main Street.
- By bike: racks on the porch. Most of the table arrives this way.
- By car: street parking on Concord Road. The driveway is for the host family.
Every conservative Wildcat on campus has a seat at the table. Membership is verified simply, so the table stays genuine.
A week at Davidson
Come to any of it. Most people start with Thursday and work outward.
- Thursday, 7:00 pm
Weekly dinner. Catered properly. RSVP in the app, no agenda.
- Sunday, 4:00 pm
Formation session in the parlor. Pillar One this term: logic and rhetoric.
- Game days
The walk to Belk Arena together, and a cookout on football Saturdays.
- Fall and spring break
The retreat, shared with the other houses. Three days, one lodge.
The three things people ask
- Do I need to RSVP?
- Yes, by Wednesday noon, so the host family knows how many are coming. Your first time, the form on this site is the RSVP; we will reply with the address. After that it is one tap in the app. Bringing a friend? Put them on your RSVP so there is a plate.
- I have a seminar until eight on Thursdays. Too late?
- No. Doors stay open until nine-thirty, and there is always a plate kept back. Come when you get out. The argument will still be going.
- Is there a cost?
- None. Dinner is free, always. Trips carry a small cost that points can cover.
